~Finding the balance between earthly delight and spiritual enlightenment~

About

Carnal Zen is my forum to explore all the ideas, contradictions, religions and credit card bills that pepper my life.

The bigger picture requires focus, perspective and a little distance.  I made a significant decision today to part with a home I once loved.  It was the proof of my independence and a place where I once felt safe.  I’ve come to understand that it no longer serves me.  Not as a safety net.  Not as a nest egg.  It is not meant to be a place I call home ever again and holding on to it would be for the wrong reasons and would be holding me back from the unfolding chapters to come.

Safety nets should come with warning labels and expiration dates.  We’ve all been there.  We stay in relationship that turn sour, just because of how much time has already been invested.  We slip into routines, stop looking for better jobs and new friendships.

When is the last time you took a chance?  Did something scary?  If you have to think back further than yesterday maybe it’s time to open doors again and invite in the unknown. When is the last time you took a chance?  Did something scary?  If you have to think back further than yesterday maybe it’s time to open doors again and invite in the unknown.
