Carnal Zen

The word came in last night. After 4 long months Mate is coming home. Seven days. 168 hours. 10,080 minutes.

This morning I sprang from bed at daybreak. The smell of fresh coffee wafted through the house. Birds twittered noisily outside. I could not wipe the stupid grin off my face. I took inventory of the summer he missed and was pleased with what I have created. New friendships have been forged both on and offline, I began this blog and am launching a new business. I have traveled, worked, rested, and played with loved ones.

My life was not on hold, not spent waiting, daydreaming of tomorrows but creating beautiful todays.
